Hello Ageless Beauties!
Choosing the right eyeshadow is hard for many women. It seems easiest to match your eyeshadow with the color of your clothes, right? Well, that’s the wrong thing to do! Many make up pros have indicated that coordinating your eyeshadow and your outfit is tacky, overbearing, and outdated (yikes!)…unless you’re going for a neutral look. Neutral is generally always safe.
If you are wearing an outfit that is very colorful, you do want to wear a color that compliments that outfit. However, in most cases, an important thing for you to consider in choosing eyeshadow is the color of your eyes to ensure that you choose a complementary color. Complementary colors are opposite each other on the color wheel. These contrasting colors (eye color v. complementary color) will draw attention to your eyes.
Find your eye color on the color wheel. The complementary color is directly across from it. This would be the eyeshadow shade that is best suited for your eye color. Many people find that secondary colors are also good choices. A secondary color results when two primary colors are mixed together resulting in the shades between the two. For example, blue and yellow are primary colors. If we mix them together, we get green which is a secondary color. Other secondary colors on the wheel are orange and purple. Tertiary colors such as aqua, plum, navy, lime, burnt orange, etc. are not named, but may also work. Give it a try and see what works for you.
